Set 8: Spiritual Qigong Practices – $4.95, As one representative of the many types of spiritual Qigong practices in the picture above you can see, “Beating the Heavenly Drums.” This set comes from a secret Taoist Alchemy practice.Unlike other spiritual traditions that emphasize opening the chakras, the Taoist tradition emphasizes having access to the opening and closing of the energy gates to the body, i.e. metaphorically speaking, having a flexible, oiled hinge. In the practice of Beating the Heavenly Drum we seal the ears and eyes and then open them. The closing of these sensory gates helps to gather Qi there, and the opening of them helps us to appreciate the world as it is, as an arena of marvels, full of wonder, awe, and mystery. Ah, what bliss to be alive!
Set 9: Walking Meditation – $4.95 After Standing Meditation, the next step on the path of becoming an initiate into this tradition, is re-learning how to walk. Since the aim of Taoist initiation is to return to the origin of things and to find our primordial awareness, a secure base must first be achieved in our Standing posture; then in order to further cultivate the Qi, we need to find stillness in our steps. This tradition of Walking Meditation is an adaptation from Yi Chuan Qigong which was transmitted to Michael from his Sifu Master Fong Ha and his teacher Han XingYuan. More about Michael’s adaptation of the tradition and his integration of it with cross-cultural spiritual traditions can be found in his book, Secrets to Living Younger Longer: The Self-healing Path of Qigong, Standing Meditation and Tai Chi.
Set 10: Yang Style Taiji Chuan – $4.95 This is the 10th set of the Bodymind Healing Qigong’s ten sets. Here is shown the set up to first cross hands. These first 16 movements are meant as an introduction to the whole set which Michael teaches. it was transmitted to him by Master Fong Ha. Michael’s interpretation of the purposes of the movements can be found in his book, Secrets to Living Younger Longer: The Self-Healing Path of Qigong, Standing Meditation and Tai Chi. www.bodymindhealing.com/
